OUR STORY
Sarah Hendler is a Los Angeles-based fine jewelry designer and estate/vintage jewelry curator. Born and raised on the Gold Coast of Long Island, New York, Sarah has always recognized the significance of jewelry in a woman's life. Her curated collections reflect an appreciation for gemstones, craftsmanship, and uniqueness that has shaped her point of view. The first Sarah Hendler contemporary fine jewelry collection launched in the Fall of 2016 during Paris Fashion Week. It is handcrafted in 18-karat gold in Los Angeles and sold on Moda Operandi and Goop. The pieces incorporate inspirational silhouettes from estate pieces married with contemporary elements like a signature spear; bold, handpicked colored gemstones, pave and unexpected enamel detailing in a contrasting palette.

“I named two of the collections — Shirley and Ethel — after my grandmothers, who were a huge influence on my early interest in jewelry,” Sarah explains. “The ‘spear’ collection is called Shirley because she was a woman always a little ahead of her time in terms of fashion, and I think the silhouette really represents a retro/vintage feel, but with a modern edginess. The ‘starburst ball’ collection is named for Ethel — because she loved a big cocktail ring! My version has elements of Victorian jewelry but with a new, bold scale and surprising enamel and pave touches.”
Sarah’s interest in film and theater led her to the West Coast in the early aughts to pursue a career as a producer in the film industry. After meeting her husband, chef and restaurateur Vinny Dotolo, she put most of her efforts into the restaurant business, having since opened critically acclaimed Animal, Son of a Gun, Jon and Vinny's amongst several more dining institutions in Los Angeles. Never losing touch with her passion for accessories and clothes led her to style private clients for red carpet events, and the success of curating a small collection of David Webb estate pieces for the store TENOVERSIX in Dallas reinvigorated her passion for fine jewelry. Sarah continues collecting handpicked vintage treasures today, and a selection of her estate finds are sold under her SARAH HENDLER ESTATE brand exclusively online through her website, private trunk shows and at her newly opened Studio in Hollywood.
